
DUBLIN, Kompas.com – Eforia hit Ireland, after they ended the Olympic gold medal famine for half a century. Thousands of people took to the streets in towns and cities in Ireland, Friday (13/8/2012), to celebrate the success of the boxer's daughter Katie Taylor won the gold medal in the lightweight final at the London 2012 Olympics. This is Ireland's first Olympic gold since 1956.
Overall, Ireland gained a gold medal, one silver and three bronze medals. These achievements is the greatest country ever since raihan Olympics Melbourne, when Ronnie Delany won the gold medal in the 1500 metres.
Four of the five medals the country obtained through branches, in addition to Cian O'Connor boxing who got the bronze medal from the jump number of individuals.
The team's arrival at Dublin Airport, welcomed four car fire extinguisher, televised live nationwide, while Taylor smiled cheerfully in the window of the cockpit while flying the flag of Ireland.
"I was very impressed. It's wonderful and amazing, "said Taylor told thousands of people, among them many who wear green, while raising the flag of the country, in his hometown of Bray, in the area of South Dublin.

"We are in a tough economy, but you raise our souls, minds and heart of this country," said Sports Minister Michael Ring, to the athletes.
