LONDON, Kompas.com – handed over the Olympic flag to the Mayor of London Mayor Rio de Janeiro, on the closure of the London 2012 Olympics, Sunday (12/8/2012). It marked the handover of responsibility for implementation to the next host, Brazil.

The flag, with a picture of the five rings, describes the togetherness roundabout occupied five continents, was handed over to Boris Johnson President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Jacques Rogge.

The IOC President then bequeathed it to the Mayor of Rio, Eduardo Paes.
